ABOUT ME
I am Cameron Brady, and I will be your English teacher of the 2018-2019 school year. I have been prepping all summer for the year, and I look forward to getting to know all of you. With that being said, there are a few things that you may want to know about me. First and foremost, I am a huge Jacksonville Jaguars fan, so there will be no Titans fans allowed in my classroom. I am kidding of course. In addition to my love for the Jags, I am a huge outdoorsman. I enjoy hiking, fishing, and being at one with nature. If I am not in the classroom, I can be found in an Eno, on a boat, or parked in a lazy chair watching football.
It should also be noted that I am a movie fanatic. We will have an ample amount of time to discuss this in depth in class. I am particularly fond of “coming of age” 80’s movies. However, my favorite movie of all time is Dead Poet’s Society with the great Robin Williams. Ultimately, that movie convinced me that I should be a teacher and life coach to all of you. We will be watching movies occasionally in class. Should you despise reading, that will give you an opportunity to escape from a book for a little bit.
As for my educational background, I attended Vanderbilt University, and I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English. While attending Vanderbilt, I participated in several different organizations. I was a member of the all-male acapella group called the Vanderbilt Melodores, I was the sports writer for the student newspaper, and I also worked as a light technician for a local bar that hosted several concerts in Nashville.
You will have plenty of time to get to know me in class and I look forward to building relationships will each and every one of you. If there is anything that I want you to know, it is that I am here to teach you. However, you are far more than just my students, and I am far more than just a teacher. I will advocate for you, I will support you, and I will always listen to you.
My doors are always open, and so are my ears. I look forward to an amazing school year! As always, Go Lions!
